STREAM-0D

STREAM-0D uses multi-physics simulation models able to predict the product quality indicators in response to these critical input parameters. The models are fed with actual data from online measurements: based on the model prediction, they allow workers to control the critical steps of the line so to adjust the product to the exact design specifications, or to quickly change specifications for producing customized batches.

ICI’s research on reduced order modeling (ROM) methods allows the development of  real-time simulation tools based on detailed physics-based models, including all the key components, materials and physical phenomena needed to accurately forecast the product quality indicators. ROM allows use of detailed, computationally expensive physics-based models as instantaneous input-output look-up tables, able to run in real time.

Three Industrial Application Pilot Cases (APC)

APC Seals

To predict seal profile evolution accounting for production line parameters and uncertainty (control-oriented ROM).

APC Bearings

To account for shape variation of cone and cup due to thermal expansion. Real-time thermo-elastic finite element model.

APC Booster

To predict booster jump-in accounting for geometry and material variability. Forecast ratio disc crushed length.
